Diagnostic description:
Large tree with a short trunk and long branches, reaching about 30 m tall. Trunk reaching very large diameters, to 3.0 m dbh, hollow within. Dioecious, fruits rounded, apparently indehiscent, about 5 cm diameter, containing a single large arilate seed.
Global Distribution:
Lower Guinea.
