Sterculia oblonga
Diagnostic description:
A tree 15 m tall, with spreading branches. Leafstalks flattened, 2.5-5 cm long. Leaves longer than their stalks, rounded at base, oblong acute or roundish, rarely sub-acuminate at apex, sinuous at the margins, glabrous on both surfaces. Flowers numerous, small, in terminal, leafless, much-branched, panicled cymes. Bracts small, deciduous. Flower-buds oblong, obtuse. Calyx downy on both surfaces, cup-shaped, deeply 5-parted; segments oblong, obtuse, at first valvate, ultimately spreading. Staminal column slender, hairy at the base, shorter than the calyx. Anthers numerous, in a globose head; lobes parallel.
