Diagnostic description:
Medium-sized or tall trees, reaching 30 m in height, with compact, dense, evergreen crown. Flowers bisexual, cauliflorous on trunk. Fruits large, flattened/sublose about 15 cm diameter and 8 cm high, reaching a weight of 2 kg when fresh, with numerous flattened seeds of about 4 cm long and 2.5 cm large, animal-dispersed.
