SUMMARY
Shrub to 3 m high. Leaves elongate-obovate, acuminate, glabrous shining when mature up to 23-36 x 7-11 cm; petiole up to 4 cm long. Panicle 10-20 long, linear, minutely rusty hairy, lowermost small cymes about 0.7 cm long distant; bract ca. 4 mm long, linear. Sepals 6 mm long, linear, minutely rusty. Corolla purple to white; tube ca 3 cm long, dilated in the upper half, white to purple tinged; Anthers 2-celled; cells parallel, each with 2 tails at the base; pollen small, short-ellipsoid. Ovary glabrous; ovules 2 in each cell.
