Zanthoxylum gilletii
Diagnostic description:
Medium- to large-sized tree reaching 40 m in height and 100 cm dbh. Stem usually armed with stout, woody spines, leaves with fewer leaflets than "macrophylla" and rachis not spiny. Flowers bisexual, fruits rounded, about 6 mm, probably animal-dispersed.
Global Distribution:
Upper and Lower Guinea and Congo Basin, extending to Zimbabwe.
